A mafia-style game online with friends, no sign up, no download
Search for a mafia game online with friends, no sign up, and you get page after page of mobile apps and app-store listings. Tunel is the browser alternative: a hidden-role party game you join by clicking a link, free, with nothing to install. It is not Mafia or Werewolf — it is its own game in the same spirit, and the differences are the point.

Why a browser version is so hard to find
Mafia and Werewolf are the classic social deduction games, but almost every online version is an app. Everyone in the group has to download it, create an account, and hope the versions match. For a quick game on a Friday call, that is a lot of friction.
Tunel runs on a plain web page. One person creates a room, the rest open the link in any browser — laptop, tablet or phone. No store, no email, no password.
How Tunel differs from Mafia and Werewolf
Tunel shares one idea with Mafia: someone at the table is secretly working against the group, and you have to figure out who. Everything else works differently, and mostly in favour of playing online:
— Mafia has a night phase where everyone closes their eyes — Tunel has no night; the whole board is visible and players take turns.
— Mafia votes people out and the eliminated sit idle — in Tunel nobody is eliminated; everyone plays to the end.
— In Mafia you judge words — in Tunel you judge actions: who placed the block, who steered the path away, who repairs and who breaks.
— Mafia needs six or seven people — Tunel starts with three, and bots fill the empty seats.
The group builds a path across a shared board toward a goal using path cards, blocks, repairs and map hints. Hidden among the friends is a rival — a saboteur who looks helpful while quietly slowing the build. A match runs three rounds and takes 20–40 minutes.
How to play by link in three steps
1. Open tunel.kurnazo.com and click Create room. There is no sign-up — just pick a name.
2. Copy the room link and drop it in your group chat. Friends open it in a browser and land at the table.
3. Choose a scenario, add bots if you are short on people, and start. The rules are explained in-game, with a full guide on the How to play page.
Bots and small groups
The hardest part of any social deduction game is getting enough people. Tunel seats 3–10 players, and bots take any empty chairs, so you can start with two friends on a weeknight instead of waiting for the whole crew.
Bots move, build and interfere under the same rules as humans, so they can be suspects too. When more friends show up, you simply remove the bots.
Voice chat, bluffing and remote play
Tunel is built for playing at a distance. Voice chat is built into the room: tap the microphone button and you hear each other, no Discord or separate call needed. There is a text chat too. Bluffing goes both ways: the saboteur has to justify every move, and honest players have to avoid looking guilty.
There is a spectator mode for latecomers, open public rooms if you want to play with new people, and a leaderboard for anyone who likes keeping score.
Eight scenarios set in Istanbul
Every match plays out in one of eight Istanbul stories, each with its own board, goal and mood:
- Rooftop party — cross the city to reach a terrace overlooking the Bosphorus.
- Lale shopping mall — find your way to the right floor before time runs out.
- The park — a walk along the alleys where someone keeps taking wrong turns.
- Grand Bazaar — a route through the maze of stalls in the covered market.
- Sky over Galata — the legend of the Galata Tower and the way to its top.
- Night in the Cistern — a descent among the columns of the Basilica Cistern.
- Tulip Festival — the Tulip Era of 1718–1730 and a celebration in the palace gardens.
- The Legend of the Maiden's Tower — boatmen in the fog carry fire to the dark lighthouse of Kız Kulesi.

FAQ
Is Tunel a Mafia or Werewolf game?
No. It is a separate hidden-role game: a shared board, cards and actions instead of night phases and voting. If you enjoy hunting a traitor in your group, you will feel at home, but the rules are its own.
Do I need to sign up?
No. Create a room, choose a name, send the link to friends and play. Nothing to download.
How many players do I need?
From 3 to 10. If you have fewer people than you would like, bots take the empty seats and the game still runs.
Can I play on my phone?
Yes. The game opens in a mobile, tablet or desktop browser from the same link.
How long is a match?
Three rounds, usually 20–40 minutes depending on the number of players and how much you argue.
